Understanding the new property tax cap: In this first year of New York’s property tax cap, details about its provisions and implementation continue to evolve. School districts continue to await further clarification from the Office of the State Comptroller, Department of Taxation and Finance, State Education Department, Division of the Budget and the Governor’s office.  The Capital Region BOCES, located in Albany, developed a publication to help answer some questions that parents, taxpayers and school staff members may have, based on what is known at this time. If you are interested in learning more about the tax cap and its impact on public schools, please take a few minutes to read, “Understanding the property tax levy cap as it relates to public schools”.

Please see the above presentation from Budget Study Session #1 on how the tax levy cap translates to Sweet Home's 2012-13 District Budget.
