Sweet Home's alumni is one of the largest, most diverse groups of the district. The Sweet Home Alumni Association, formed in 1990, brings that group together to support education and keep in contact with one another through get-togethers, reunions and monthly planning meetings.
All alumni are welcome to attend any Alumni Association meeting. Meetings are normally held at 6:30pm the first Monday of each month in the Norman Virgils Center and specific dates are listed below.
The Alumni Association published its twenty-first newsletter in November 2010. The $25 fee for membership dues supports the newsletter, as well as the scholarship fund. Each year at least four scholarships are awarded, one that goes to a son/daughter of a Sweet Home graduate. Donations to this fund are welcome and tax deductible.

Sweet Home Distinguished Alumni Wall of Fame Update - 2011 CLASS ANNOUNCED!!
The Sweet Home High School Alumni Association will induct five members into the school’s Distinguished Alumni Wall of Fame on Friday, November 4 at 6:30pm. The ceremonies for the 2011 class will take place in the main lobby of Sweet Home High School – 1901 Sweet Home Road in Amherst.
A committee of veteran teachers, past and present administrators, Sweet Home alumni and Alumni Association board members reviewed several nominations and selected the five inductees based on the nominee’s excellence in his/her chosen field, outstanding service to community and/or profession and contributions to humanity at the local, regional or national level.
The five members of the 2011 Distinguished Alumni Wall of Fame Class are:
Hugh B. Scott (Class of 1967) – Western New York federal judge
Dr. Kenneth Goldstein (Class of 1969) – Podiatrist
Ken Tirohn (Class of 1980) – Principal and Chief Operating Officer of the Accessium Group
Donald Feldmann (Class of 1990) – Coordinator of Public and Community Relations, Sweet Home Central School District
Adam J. Burgasser, PhD (Classof 1992) – Assistant Professor of Physics University of California San Diego

Reunion News
• Class of 1962 - Carol Hulme is the organizer for this August reunion. Her contact information is: Carol Hulme, 10 Roman Lane, Amherst, NY 14226-2512; e-mail her at cfhulme@aol.com.
• Class of 1972 - The 40th reunion will be held at Banchetti's on July 21st. Committee members are: Barb Donovan, Jesse Rutterman Wright, Diane Daniels Gardner, Denise Bifaro Roberts, Mary Jo LeFevre Conrad, Dan Herbeck.
• Class of 1982 - Lucia Destefano Wells is the organizer. More information will be available soon.
• Class of 1987 - The 25th reunion will be held on July 27 - July 28th. It is organized by Melissa (Tarquin) Favata & Kelli Bogacz. On July 27, it will be an informal get-together at the Marriott, and on July 28, the class will get together at the Brighton Fire Hall (a pre-payment will be needed for this).
• Class of 1992 - Chris Brown is the organizer. More information will be available soon.
• Class of 2002 - Heather (Kennedy) Paolucci is the organizer. The reunion will be held Dingen's Bar and Grill from 7 pm - 11 pm on Saturday, September 1st (601 Dingens Street, Buffalo, NY). There will be a live DJ, photo booth, food and 3 hour open bar. Dingens is connected to Best Western, so rooms are available for any out of town guests or for people who stay over. Tickets will be $30 - 35 (depending on costs). If anyone wishes to e-mail photos / stories, send them to

Harris Alumni Directory
The Alumni Association finished it's work with Harris Connect in Chesapeake, Virginia to create a new Sweet Home Alumni Directory, published in September 2010. As part of the District's 50th Anniversary, this Directory provides alumni with the most recent information.
If you have any questions regarding billing or directory availability, please call Harris Connect's Customer Service department at 800-877-6554. Also, Harris Connect offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee so if you are not completely satisfied, please contact Customer Service and the book may be returned within 30 days for a refund.
Also, by the end of October 2010, there will be an on-line community. Alumni will be able to register at no cost, receive a password and then have the ability to view their listing and make updates at any time. This also provides an opportunity for alumni to provide their updated information if, for some reason, they did not do so for the print directory (or correct any errors).

Hot off the presses...new Sweet Home Alumni t-shirts. The color of the shirts are navy with a gold crest. The shirts come in adult sizes S-XXL.
